The VMAD works in collaboration with local and national players:

In business creation:

  • The Côte d’Opale Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI): A public establishment that contributes to economic development, to the attractiveness and development of its territory and provides support for business.
  • The Nord Pas de Calais Chamber of Trades and Crafts (CMA): the Chamber of Trades is a consultative body representing the interests of artisans in dealings with the Government. From economic monitoring to experimentation, from training to development, the aim of the CMA is to provide concrete assistance and to defend professionals in their sector of activity.
  • The BGE Cote d’Opale Littoral (from the French 'ensemBle pour aGir et Entreprendre, together for action and enterprise) is an association that advises and supports entrepreneurs embarking on the creation or takeover of a VSE (Very Small Enterprise); it is part of a national network offering support to entrepreneurs.
  • THE ADITEC PAS-DE-CALAIS – CEEI : Set up in 1992, the association’s aim is to help small and medium sized enterprises and new entrepreneurs  to expand and improve their competitiveness.


In the craft professions:

  • The National Institute of the Craft Professions (INMA) is the key structure at inter-Ministerial level that brings together all players in the sector, professional and institutional alike, to further the general interests of the craft professions. The INMA promotes exchanges, develops expertise and gives coherence to the various dynamics.
  • Ateliers d'Art de France, presided over by Serge Nicole, has a membership of 5,400 artists, artisans and art manufacturers across France. Our missions: To support professionals and to promote the sector’s high-level know-how, in France and internationally.
  • Ville et Métiers d’Art: an association constituted in accordance with the French law of 1901 (concerning non-profit organisations) whose aim is to promote the richness and diversity of the craft professions in towns and cities that have been awarded the ‘Ville et métiers d’Art’ label. This label encompasses a selection of 64 municipalities, including the town of Desvres.
  • The National Federation of Art Studios (FNAA): An association constituted in accordance with the French law of 1901 (concerning non-profit organisations) whose aim is to promote the crafts sector, together with the professional associations and the various sector players, among the public by developing the public image of the craft professions.
  • The Maison de la Faïence – Musée de la Céramique de Desvres (The Maison de la Faïence earthenware centre - ceramics museum): The museum offers a discovery of the very special nature of Desvres faience along a surprising museographic pathway. The Maison de la Faïence earthenware centre hosts artists in residence who work in close collaboration with local artisans.
